Taking a Stand

This week has been quite busy at my school. Dozens of students who have survived the first round of judging will now be attending the Regional competition for National History Day
.

The theme for this year's even is 'Taking a Stand in History: People, Ideas, Events' (PDF). Projects consisted of folded presentation boards, multiple page term papers, and various different media. I spent my day working with students putting the final touches on their video presentations in iMovie, and then transferring them to DVDs. I must say these kids are incredible. One project was on the Minnesota Power Line protest. A pretty unique subject area for a bunch of middle school kids.

I've had a long week, and a busy day. Have a great weekend.
